Rebbi- Life and afterlife
Tzippori and Beit Shearim
Never heard of Tzippori? Come to see this incredible site in the Lower Galil which was the home of Rabbi Yehuda Hanasi in the time of mishna. Remains of the town are a testament to its grandeur and its sophisticated population. Tzippori features stunning mosaics, exceptional views a water system to crawl through and so much food for thought.

Afterwards lunch we will visit an olive press, where the ancient olives of Tzippori are pressed today.

Our next stop are the catacombs of Beit Shearim. After Rebbi was buried here in 217 CE, it became a popular burial place for Israeli and diaspora Jews. Today it is a facinating place to visit, and a window into the past.

If you study mishna or Gemara or are interested in Jewish life in the Galillee in the Roman Period, this tour is not to be missed.
